Waverley Stanley presents Yalary at the IALC 2014 Gala Dinner

IALC Delegates raised AU$ 12,640 for educational charity Yalari at the IALC 2014 Brisbane Workshop, that took place from Thursday 10 to Sunday 13 April.

This amount was raised upon registration and through a number of fund raising activities throughout the workshop. Delegates were able to bid for Aboriginal works of art in a silent Auction on Friday and Saturday. The main piece was auctioned live at the Gala Dinner on Saturday 10 April, and the highest bidder was Mauricio Pucci from Education Hifi.

During the dinner Waverley Stanley made an inspiring speech about the Yalari project and the value of education for the Aboriginal children who are able to gain access to schooling thanks to this initiative. Yalari places over 200 children into some of the top schools across Australia, and provides a number of other programs designed to create future leaders. This project is supported by the Langports Foundation.
