Global School of English moves to larger premises in Edinburgh

From the 22nd of June, Global School of English will be based at Wemyss House, 45 Frederick Street, Edinburgh EH2 1EP.

Global School was established in 2010 and since then has grown to be a major provider of English language training and courses for students from all around the world. The school has now outgrown its original home, where hundreds of our students have studied and learned over the last five years. Now, the school is moving to superior new premises in an ‘A Listed’ building in Edinburgh’s world-famous “New Town’, ideally located in the city centre and surrounded by cafes, restaurants and brilliant entertainment facilities.

The new School has eight classrooms, instead of six, and new technology has been installed in each room: modern TV screens linked to Apple TV boxes to facilitate interactive learning. In addition to the smart new Student Room, there will also be a self-study area for students who need peace and quiet to improve their English language skills.

Wemyss House is just a few minutes walk from the main railway station, only a couple of minutes from Princes Street, the main shopping street in the city, which has panoramic views of Edinburgh Castle. George Street, with its multitude of cafes, bars and restaurants, is even closer and we're delighted to have secured such a superb location for the School.

Glasgow School of English has also undergone a major programme of refurbishment and the School is now bright, welcoming and full of the latest technology and teaching aids.

The newly refurbished School has ten classrooms. Just like its sister institution, Global School of English, it now has new technology in each room. The Student Rest-Area has been fully refurbished, as well as the Reception area to give students a warm, welcoming image the moment you walk into the School.

Hope Street in Glasgow, where the School is based, is right in the middle of the city centre, surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and bars. It's an ideal location, just minutes away from the train and bus stations and about 20-30 minutes from Glasgow International Airport.

Glasgow School of English and Global School of English both have British Council Accreditation for all our English language courses, ISO9001 certification, and are members of the International Association of Language Centres (IALC). "We are very proud of the high standard of teaching we provide, along with our student services facilities," says President Andrew Lennox. "Our reputation is founded on both the quality of our teaching and the level of personal care and attention that we provide to each of our students. Many of our students come back to study at the school or send their friends and family. The number of personal recommendations is very high. We believe that this major refurbishment will allow our School to go from strength to strength."
