French in Normandy Goes Green

French IALC language school French in Normandy in Rouen has achieved the Green Standard School accreditation.

Eleri Maitland, French in Normandy Director said “We are so proud to be the very first French language school to have adopted Green Standard Schools as our benchmark in keeping to our goals for being a more environmentally friendly business. The Green Standard Schools accreditation is the obvious place to start when thinking how to make one’s business more eco-friendly and more responsible. The criteria are easy to understand, to follow and to implement and it gives schools a great framework within which to become a more sustainable enterprise.”

“Our students are very supportive of this initiative. They love the fact that disposing of your cigarette end in an environmentally friendly way can also be a quiz as well!”

Adding transparent recycling bins in order to encourage using the RIGHT receptacle for all items is just one of the many changes that French in Normandy have introduced in order to become a more environmentally friendly institution.

Green Standard Schools is a global, not-for-profit association of language schools that are seriously committed to protecting the environment.

The aim of Green Standard school accreditation is to lessen the impact that language teaching has on the environment by developing a set of policies and practices that language teaching institutions and their stakeholders can adopt and adhere to.

French in Normandy was also the first French language school to gain the GSS accreditation as well as the IH Sustainability badge.
