Teaching with Mobile Devices

51 teachers from ELC Brighton and Eastbourne School of English came together in Lewes in October for a workshop entitled Teaching with Mobile Devices presented by Gavin Dudeney.

This was the first joint workshop held for teaching staff of both schools and is part of a broader technology strategy that has seen a large investment in technology across the two sister schools.

In addition to interactive whiteboards, both schools have been recently enhanced with class set of ipads and projection mediums such as smart TVs and projectors with Apple TV.

“It was great to see so many teachers from the two schools come together,” said Phil Hopkins, Chief Executive of The English Language Centre, which runs both schools. “The feedback from our teachers has been really positive, both in terms of the content of an excellent workshop but also the opportunity for teaching staff to network with their colleagues from across the organisation and learn a bit more about what they do. For our students we feel it is really important to provide a range of technologies that they already use in their daily lives to support and enhance their learning.”
