Quality Language Schools Worldwide

This year’s Oxford Fun Run attracted a high turnout of IALC schools with CES winning the IALC trophy.

In total, an estimated 400 runners from local charities and companies and around 20 schools and colleges participated in the annual charity event in Oxford on 6 May.

This included students and staff from many IALC schools: London School of English, English in Margate, CES, St Clare’s Oxford and BEET Language Centre in Bournemouth.

However, there could be only one winner and this year the IALC Trophy was won by CES. Oxford Fun Run organiser Dr Graham Simpson said of their victory:

"This year we were delighted to welcome Justin Quinn of CES who flew in from Dublin in the morning with his daughter to take part.  CES are long standing supporters of the event and the presence of their dear leader seemed to inspire the CES contingent who surged through the field to win the prestigious IALC trophy".

Last year the 5km run raised £14,000.00 for the charities represented by the participants and we at IALC would like to congratulate CES for being crowned winners of the annual IALC Trophy.

The annual Oxford Fun Run is a fantastic day out for English language students in the UK, combining sport, fund-raising and a delicious post-race BBQ and this year over 700 sausages and 200 courgettes were devoured at the BBQ!
