Brooklyn School of Languages is reopening for face-to-face classes in May!

On May 03rd IALC English language school, Brooklyn School of Languages is reopening for face-to-face classes and launching 'English Outdoors', a hybrid English program with morning lessons (15 hours per week) in outdoor locations all over the city, and afternoon electives (7.5 hours per week) in their new English Outdoors (EO) Lounge in Dumbo, Brooklyn. **

Dumbo (short for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) has become one of the most popular and coolest neighborhoods to live and work in New York, and is just 1 stop on the subway from Manhattan! The EO Lounge is located in a loft-style, 8-floored building, just a few minutes’ walk from the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and the beautiful neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights. The famous view of Manhattan Bridge from Washington Street, one of New York’s most famous Instagram shots, is also in the neighborhood.

The EO Lounge will be the meeting point every morning for teachers and students to go to their daily outdoor classroom together (locations change every day), and will be the place where students can study, take weekly assessments and occasional level-up tests. There are also several cosy breakout areas and a kitchen area to get together and relax before or after classes.

With its location close to Manhattan, it is the perfect base to explore the city with the English Outdoors program. The innovative concept will ensure students discover as much of New York as possible, get immersed in the life and culture of the city while enjoying some of its best views, and make the most of the outside space and fresh air for easy social distancing.

A list of sample outdoor locations can be found on BSL’s website, and the latest Youtube video released by the school shows snapshots of classes outdoors and the benefits of the English Outdoors concept.

** It is worth noting that BSL is also offering a Standard program of 15 hours per week that takes place fully outdoors. However due to the travel restrictions in place, only F1 students on Intensive courses can currently enter the country, until further travel updates are released.
