Quality Language Schools Worldwide

A wider choice of potential partner schools and a new seminar programme greeted language travel agents attending the 2009 IALC Workshop, hosted in Milan in late April by Italian language school, Linguadue.

As of 1 April 2009, IALC membership reached 103 language schools worldwide. Decision-makers from 101 of these attended the 2009 IALC Workshop at Milan's ATA Executive Hotel from 30 April to 3 May.

IALC has recently approved the membership applications of 16 language schools in nine countries, all of which were in Milan to meet agents for the first time as IALC accredited schools. "With the addition of these leading independent language schools in 2008 and 2009, we are proud to offer our widest ever portfolio to agencies," said Walter Denz, IALC President.

For the first time, IALC organised seminars for agents on day one of the event. Bob Burger of Malaca Instituto gave a presentation of the IALC partner agency scheme, which was followed by an Internet Advantage-led session on Internet marketing.

Evening events followed the IALC tradition, presenting Italian opera in the exclusive Palazzo Cusani on Thursday evening and a fashion extravaganza at the gala dinner on Saturday. On Friday delegates gathered at Linguadue for the annual host school party.

Fam trips in Italy and to Malta completed the package for agents registered for the 26th IALC Workshop, which attracted 313 participants from 75 IALC member organisations, 12 exhibitors and 127 agencies in 31 countries.
