Quality Language Schools Worldwide

On 19 October 2013, the Department of Italian at Georgetown University, Washington DC organised the Teaching Italian Culture Conference in cooperation with the Italian Embassy and Italian Culture Institute in Washington DC. This conference was part of a series of events run during the Year of the Italian Culture in the United States and closed the Italian Language Week.

One of the speakers, a close collaborator of Piccola Universita Italiana (PUI), presented her research: "Teaching Italian language and culture: going beyond stereotypes" which focuses on the less stereotypical but no less essential elements of Italian culture which Italian teachers seldom talk about. She also mentioned www.italianculture.net, a website that was developed by PUI as part of a project to promote Italian culture in 2002 and which was recognised by the Italian Ministry of Culture.
