Charles Harrison has retired as Chief Executive of The English Language Centre, Brighton & Hove. Charles joined ELC in 1973 and became Chief Executive in 1987.

In addition to his role at ELC, Charles was Chairman of ARELS from 2002 to 2004 and played a major role in the formation of EnglishUK. He is still a member of the EnglishUK Finance Panel.

Following illness in July 2007, Charles returned to part-time work at ELC in the role of Finance Executive and it has now been agreed to make this situation permanent.

Phil Hopkins (pictured) and Peter Tamkin, formerly Directors of Studies, have been appointed Principal and Academic Director respectively and take over the management of the school.
