James Swift is appointed IALC Ombudsman

18 aprile 2009

James Swift, the former owner of the LAL Language and Leisure English language schools, which were members of IALC during the 1980s and 1990s, has been appointed IALC Ombudsman. He succeeds Mary Towers, a founder and former President of IALC, who is enjoying retirement in Dublin. The IALC Ombudsman mediates in disputes or complaints between IALC schools and agencies or students that cannot be settled at an earlier stage of the IALC Complaints Procedure.

Though it has been many years since the IALC Ombudsman had to act, James is looking forward to working with the IALC Quality Assurance Committee as they continue to develop the association's quality standards. In addition to running international language schools, James was a co-director of Frosch Touristik and LAL Sprachreisen, one of Germany's leading study travel agencies, and chaired the German agency association FSDV.
