Our Junior Programs offer young learners the opportunity to learn English in spectacular U.S. cities while building life-long friendships with their peers from around the world and discovering valuable life lessons. A combination of courses, activities and excursions creates the perfect balance of learning and fun.

The ELC Junior Program at UCLA is for students between the ages of 11-17 and includes 20 lessons a week, giving you the choice of either General English or Entrepreneurship. All our students have the opportunity to live on the famous UCLA campus in shared rooms with a full board meal plan. Additionally, all students have access to UCLA’s facilities including the John Wooden Center, Sunset Canyon recreation center, UCLA bookstore, and Ackerman Student Union Center.

The Junior Program is designed to provide exceptional support, supervision and excitement, ensuring our students’ experiences are educationally, socially and culturally enriching.

Highlights

  • MULTI-LEVEL PLACEMENT

Our method of placement testing allows students to be placed into the most appropriate level for each skill area, rather than a single level placement for all skill areas.

Two 40-minute and two 60-minute lessons per day - 20 lessons per week (Monday-Friday)

ELC Junior Programs let’s students create memories that will last a lifetime and make new friends from all over the world!

Programmes offered

ELC’s Junior programs offer you three options to choose from:

Full package:

  • 20 lessons of English (General English or Entrepreneurship)
  • On-campus residential accommodation with full-board meal plan
  • Supervised weekday activities and full day excursion each Sunday
  • All transportation to and from afternoon activities and excursions included in program
  • Airport transfers included for flights arriving Saturday between 9am-9pm and departure flights departing Saturday between 9am-9pm.

Course and Activities:

  • 20 lessons of English (General English or Entrepreneurship)
  • Supervised weekday activities and full day excursions each Sunday
  • Transportation to and from all activities and excursions included in Program

Course only:

  • 20 lessons of English (General English or Entrepreneurship)

Our Junior Programs provide students the opportunity to choose from up to three afternoon activity options. Students can create their adventure and combine activities! Students have the option to choose a new activities program each week (with one-week advance notice)

UCLA Junior program afternoon activity options:  (Monday-Friday)

Classic Program Enjoy all the culture, sights, and sounds of Los Angeles. 

Film EXPLORER Explore the process of producing a film.

University EXPLORER Focus on study skills, TOEFL/IELTS test preparation as well as visiting local universities.

Accommodation

University residence on the UCLA campus -

  • 18 meals per week
  • Full-board Monday-Friday
  • Half-board Saturday, breakfast only Sunday
  •  Doubles & triples

Students living on campus can enjoy the convenience of being on campus and a sense of community. On-campus housing is situated at the heart of university life and is just a short walk away from the classrooms at Marymount, libraries, and sports facilities. With all the housing and dining needs met, students feel right at home. The Highrise residence halls have community restrooms and showers separated by gender. Most rooms in the residence halls will be shared by up to three students, single rooms are available for a supplemental fee.

Residence hall amenities include furnished rooms with linens provided. There are laundry facilities located in the residence, as well as several study lounges. Residence halls have 24-hour front desk services for messages and drop-off deliveries and a residential cafeteria on the premises or nearby.

Local area

UCLA is located in Westwood, one of the safest and most affluent neighborhoods of the westside in Los Angeles. Bordering the campus on the south is Westwood Village, a major regional district for shopping, dining, movie theaters, and other entertainment. Westwood is just a short ride to the Santa Monica beaches

Exam options

We can provide one to one TOEFL and IELTS test preparation classes and help register the student for the exam locally.
