At Celtic, we take care of our students’ futures as English speakers by offering a range of courses to help you reach your goal. We teach students from A1 Beginner to C1 Advanced level.
You can choose 6 course types depending on how many lessons, hours and what you want to study:
Our courses will improve your all-round English ability and increase confidence in your day-to-day use of the language. You will be placed into classes matched to your developmental stage, and you will practise your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in English with a focus on fluency and accuracy.
General English is available for 15, 21 or 30 hours a week, in the mornings, or at a lower-cost for afternoon classes. Ladies-only classes are also available, subject to demand.
Our courses aim to familiarise you with the format of the Academic IELTS exam, as well as providing strategies which will better enable you to achieve your desired band score.
The course builder system with core course, add-on and complement options provides the perfect opportunity for you to learn, develop and refine your English language skills, with specialised options that can really add to your personal or professional development.
We also offer tailor-made programmes for juniors and groups throughout the year.
We have a Junior Summer Residential Programme at the Bangor University Campus in North Wales, for students aged 11-17 years old. Bangor is a historic city, in an outstanding location surrounded by the sea and mountains. The programme runs for 5 weeks with English lessons in the morning and social/cultural activities in the afternoons and evenings. Highlights include day trips to Manchester, Liverpool and Anglesey Island, plus adventure activities like Zip World where students can zipwire down the mountain over a former slate mine!

If you would like to have your own space and to be more independent, choose our standard or studio residence accommodation. Our brand-new residence accommodation is located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, within 15 minutes’ walking distance of our academy. There is a choice of rooms on offer to suit different budgets and levels of privacy. It is equipped with multiple communal living and study areas, a games room, cinema room and an on-site gym.
If discovering real British culture and way of life is more important to you, there’s no better way to experience this than in a local homestay. All our homestay accommodation providers are carefully selected by our team. They are all welcoming and caring, regardless of age or circumstances. You can choose from two types of homestay accommodation; standard and superior, with either half-board or full-board options.

The city also has some wonderful parks and green spaces for you to explore including Bute Park & Arboretum, one of the UK’s largest and most beautiful parks located right in the heart of the city.
Cardiff is well-located by the coast with easy access to other places of interest such as the Gower Peninsula which was voted as having one of the best beaches in the world (Rhossili Bay), the South Wales valleys rich in Welsh coal mining heritage, and the Brecon Beacons National Park. Cardiff also has great links to other fantastic cities in the UK which you may wish to visit including London, Oxford and Bath.
Every year we prepare students for IELTS and Cambridge FCE/CAE exams, which you can sit at local centres. These widely recognised qualifications will help you stand out and could be your passport into gaining entry to university or securing a better job.
At Celtic, you can take a number of different exams including Cambridge Occupational English Test (OET), for medical professionals, Language Cert, Trinity GESE, Trinity ISE and the INTO entry exam (IELA).
Celtic offers the Global Competence Certificate (GCC), which is a certified intercultural learning programme that you can take as part of the Cross Cultural Skills plus programme. The GCC increases your awareness of yourself and others. It helps you to grow as a global citizen and develop your intercultural awareness skills. It is also great to add to your CV to show future employers that you have international awareness.
Celtic offers a University Counselling Service which gives personalised in-house support to students looking to progress to university. Each student can receive the basic service free of charge. For extra support, the advanced or premium packages are available at a fee. We have partnerships with a number of universities within the UK, as well as being an INTO partner language school, with partner universities in the UK and USA.
A Conversation Café is held every Friday in the Student Lounge. It is designed to help you make friends and practise your English in a relaxed, informal and friendly environment. Our ‘Language Doctor’ can also help you with any aspect of English that you may be having trouble with. Language Doctor sessions are available for free by appointment, so you can get dedicated assistance with your English language problem.
There are additional study workshops through the year, which are also free like pronunciation workshops, CV writing and TED Talk Tuesdays, where you watch a TED Talk video and discuss the theme of the talk. All students are also invited to University presentations when we have visiting reprsentatives.
Celtic’s social programme will help you to make the most of your time in the UK. Our social activities give you a chance to practise your speaking skills, make friends from around the world and have fun whilst exploring a new city and country. We make sure there are always a variety of afternoon and evening activities, as well as organised half-day and full-day excursions to numerous attractions or places of interest on offer.
