Our Summer Junior English camp is designed for students aged 13 to 17 years old. The camp includes general English lessons, full board accommodation in twin rooms in a local host family (recruited by us!), as well as a full program of supervised activities and excursions.
In summer 2021, all classes will take place in Brooklyn Bridge Park, giving our young students the opportunity to learn English and enjoy the best view of Manhattan while staying safe and practicing social distancing easily. The city will become their classroom!
By choosing our Junior English Outdoor summer camp, students can also help the environment. They can enjoy the benefits of natural sunlight, shade, and the breeze, rather than being inside a classroom with AC and artificial light. Our homestays are located in Brooklyn and are all recruited by the school director himself, ensuring a high quality of placements. We have a strong network of hosts who have been working with us for years and offer a real community experience to our students.
Living as part of an English-speaking household is simply the best way to truly immerse yourself in the language and culture of a country. Students will be practicing the English they have learned every day with other English speakers, which means that they will never stop learning and improving fluency. It is also a great chance to get to know people living in New York and share their way of life. Hosts will welcome youngsters in their home as a member of their family, and in return will expect them to adapt to their way of life (mealtimes, for example, may be different to the home country). Mutual respect is the key to a successful stay.
In summer 2021, all classes will take place outside in Brooklyn Bridge Park, giving our young students the opportunity to learn English and enjoy the best view of Manhattan while staying safe and practicing social distancing easily. Instead of being in a room with 4 walls, the city will become their classroom! The Brooklyn Bridge Park location has been carefully chosen based on comfort, space, ease of access, proximity of public restrooms... and of course the view!
It is located just on the other side of the Brooklyn Bridge, 10 minutes to Downtown Manhattan by subway, or only 30 minutes’ walk on the bridge. The Brooklyn Promenade along the East River offers one of the best views in the city, there are also shaded areas to study, several subway stations close by and many coffee shops and boutiques in the famous Brooklyn Heights neighborhood just 5 minutes’ walk away.
