Quality Language Schools Worldwide

At the beginning of April 2012, The English Language Centre in Brighton celebrates its 50th birthday. As it embarks on its next 50 years, ELC Brighton has had its best ever British Council inspection report, a successful merger with Eastbourne School of English and a major investment in infrastructure that has seen a complete transformation in the school.

At its BC inspection in 2011, ELC Brighton scored six Points of Excellence. This places ELC firmly in a small group of UK schools that has achieved six or more. No other school in Brighton has more points of excellence. “The excellent results are a testament to the experience, expertise and focus on excellence of all staff,” says Phil Hopkins, Chief Executive and Principal.

The three-year investment in infrastructure has seen the complete transformation of the two main buildings inside and out, with a new reception and administration office, student and staff kitchens, new toilets, interactive whiteboards and new computer lab. The dedicated Business Centre and all 26 of the classrooms in the two buildings have been refurbished/redecorated – the refurbishment of the final five classrooms in the third building will be completed this year. 2012 will also see the opening of a dedicated teacher-training library, kindly and generously sponsored by Robert O’Neill, renowned veteran EFL course book writer.

ELC Brighton will be celebrating with a number of events throughout the year.
