During September 2015, Good Hope Studies organised a fam-trip showcasing its volunteer programmes. The fam-trip coincided with the school's 20-anniversary party, which gathered students, staff, agents and partners at the city-centre campus.

The familiarisation programme started in Port Elizabeth and ended with visits to the GHS schools in Cape Town on 24 September. Agents from Argentina, Brazil, Korea, Germany and Peru joined the fam-trip along South Africa’s famous Garden Route.

The group saw elephant feeding and research activity and visited South Africa’s largest monkey sanctuary.

"Our volunteer programmes have grown in the last few years. These are great programmes where students can see different parts of South Africa, learn about animal conservation or get involved with social programmes," said co-owner and director Alex Kratochwil.

Good Hope Studies offers over 30 volunteer programmes in South Africa and Namibia. Students can also combine volunteering with an English language course in Cape Town. Volunteer programmes are available year round, starting from two weeks in duration, and are open to adults with an Intermediate English level. GHS currently welcomes students and volunteers from 43 countries.

"We wanted to show our agents the wide range of opportunities for their clients in South Africa. Our volunteer programmes offer unique options for students to learn about South Africa and have amazing experiences," said Phillip McIntyre, General Manager.

The anniversary celebration was an African themed party with drumming, local food and traditional face painting. Guests also saw images from the last 20 years and there were themed rooms exhibiting a photographic journey through the various locations and periods of the company’s history.

"We were very excited to be able to celebrate with our key partners who have supported us over the last few years," said Alexander Kratochwil. "We are very much like a family and we look after our students and partners in the same way that we did 20 years ago when we started off with one student," he said.

Good Hope Studies has grown from a single campus school to become one of the largest English language schools in South Africa, with two campuses and over 30 volunteer programmes in South Africa and Namibia. GHS has been an IALC school since 1999 and in 2013 became EAQUALS accredited. It now welcomes students and volunteers from 43 countries.
