CES launch ‘Buddy up’ initiative

You may be feeling anxious or stressed at this time while social distancing or self-isolating during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and that's completely normal but IALC-accredited schools CES have developed a new initiative that is aimed at looking out for each other’s mental health and wellbeing.

The ‘Buddy Up’ initiative was developed because it isn’t always apparent to your managers or colleagues if you are feeling low. As we are feeling more concerned about the elderly, family and friends who may loose their jobs, CES want to ensure that you have a ‘Buddy’ in your corner to check how you are feeling personally and not just how your work is going.

The idea is to work with your manager to identify a ‘Buddy’ who isn’t your direct manager and is someone you can trust and have open conversations with. Then twice a week you and your ‘Buddy’ can call each other for at least 10 minutes to discuss any feelings, fears, and anxiousness and ask any questions you may have.

The initiative by CES is designed to make sure we identify when our Buddy might be having a bad day and either offer to help or suggest reaching out to others in the company for help or sometimes just brining a laugh into their day.

It’s like catching up for a virtual “cuppa” to allow us to stay connected when working remotely.

Together we are a powerful force. Let's look out for each other.

Founded in 1979, CES has over 40 years' experience teaching English language to international students in their school's across Dublin, the UK and in Toronto. Find out more about learning English with CES here https://www.ces-schools.com/
