Quality Language Schools Worldwide

2013 is a great year to learn French at IS Aix-en-Provence, as the French language school organizes a series of special activities linked to Marseille’s nomination as 2013 European City of Culture. The celebrations began on 12 and 13 January, when IS students enjoyed the opening weekend of the Marseille-Provence 2013 European Capital of Culture. The weekend festivities included a contemporary art trail, a Light Parade, the Great Clamour, treasure hunts and Revelations on the Rhone River.

Two European Capitals of Culture are chosen each year and in 2013, Marseille shares the honour with the Slovakian city of Kosice. Throughout the year, the region of Marseille-Provence will present different local groups, traditions and lifestyles through contemporary art forms. The programme will include large annual cultural events such as Aix-en-Provence’s Festival d’Art Lyrique, Arles’ Rencontres de la Photographie and the Roque d’Anthes Festival de Piano, as well as unique installations, performances and audience participation projects. Students at IS Aix-en-Provence will be kept informed of 2013 European Capital of Culture activities and enjoy some special activities organized by IS.
