The ELC adult Summer Campus Program at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) gives students the opportunity to live on a beautiful American university campus while they study English with ELC. Students attend ELC classes on the UCLA campus located just a 10-minute walk from their dormitory. Students live in a dormitory on the UCLA campus and have free access to many of the UCLA facilities including the John Wooden Center’s  fitness center, Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, racquetball and tennis courts, and swimming pools. Students may also visit the Ackerman Food Court and Arcade and the UCLA Student Bookstore. Students also have access to the UCLA libraries.

The ELC Adult Campus program at UCLA is for students ages of 17+ and includes 20 lessons a week of general English. All students have the opportunity to live on the famous UCLA campus in shared rooms with a Half board meal plan. Additionally, students have access to UCLA’s facilities including the John Wooden Center, Sunset Canyon recreation center, UCLA bookstore, and Ackerman Student Union Center.

The Adult Campus Program is designed to provide a wonderful American Campus experience, excitement, while ensuring our students’ experiences are educationally, socially and culturally enriching.

Our method of placement testing allows students to be placed into the most appropriate level for each skill area, rather than a single level placement for all skill areas.

Accommodation

Students living on campus can enjoy the convenience of being on campus and a sense of community. On-campus housing is situated at the heart of university life and is just a short walk away from the classrooms, libraries, and sports facilities. With all the housing and dining needs met, students feel right at home.

The high rise residence halls have community restrooms and showers separated by gender. Most rooms in the residence halls will be shared by up to three students, single rooms are available for a supplemental fee.

Residence hall amenities include furnished rooms with linens provided. There are laundry facilities located in the residence, as well as several study lounges. Residence halls have 24-hour front desk services for messages and drop-off deliveries and a residential cafeteria on the premises or nearby.

Local area

UCLA is located in Westwood, one of the safest and most affluent neighborhoods of the westside in Los Angeles. Bordering the campus on the south is Westwood Village, a major regional district for shopping, dining, movie theaters, and other entertainment. Additionally, Westwood is just a short bus ride to the Santa Monica beaches for some enjoyment in the sun and sand.

Exam options

We can provide one to one TOEFL and IELTS test preparation classes and help register students to take exams locally.
