Peter Fabian, former Principal of the London School of English, passed away in March 2015.

Peter Fabian was born in Germany in 1920 and moved to Britain as a teenager. He studied French and German in Cambridge after the Second World War. He retained a strong dislike for the highly academic approach to language learning and all his life was a great advocate for learning by doing. Peter Fabian was the principal of the The London School of English from 1960 until the 1980s, and the owner until he retired in 1997. Timothy Blake, Chief Executive of the London School of English, describes Peter Fabian as "a maverick, a visionary. [...] These days Peter’s views are no longer controversial, but we retain many of his core priorities".
