It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the death of Peter Clarke, co-owner and co-director of Torquay International School. After a long battle with cancer, Peter died peacefully and painlessly in his sleep on the morning of Friday 27th October at St. Luke’s Hospice near Plymouth. His wife, Jeanette, and their children, Helena and James, were with him. Peter’s career in EFL started some 23 years ago, when for 19 years he worked for the Susanne Sparrow Plymouth Language School. Peter joined TIS on 1st July 2002. Co-owner, co-director and close friend Judith Hands says: "I can truly say that every one of us at TIS loved working with him. He enriched our school and he enriched our lives in so many ways. Any one of you who has known Peter, perhaps through working with him, or as a friend that you met at Workshops or Language Travel Missions, will remember him as a very fine man, full of fun and just great to be with. There were many sides to Peter’s life. He loved his work, sailing, football, his church, good food and wine and above all his family life with Jeanette, Helena and James. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have been a part of Peter’s life."
