Langports celebrates first year of not-for-profit college in Sydney

On 17 September, Langports Sydney held a party to celebrate one year of operation and to thank supporters of the not-for-profit English language college. Over 100 guests and supporters of Langports Sydney attended the VIP event at the modern Darling Harbour campus. Guests were entertained throughout the night by Aboriginal dancers and digeridoo players.

The attending education agents, university representatives, CEO of NEAS, architect and builders of the school, Yalari Scholarship recipients, staff & other students heard the personal story of John France's creation of the Langports Foundation.

Langports Sydney is a non-for-profit educational organisation that contributes 100% of its proceeds to the Langports Foundation, a charity that provides educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Since opening in September 2014, Langports Sydney has welcomed over 500 students from over 29 nationalities. "By choosing to study or work with Langports, students and partners help to support the Langports Foundation," says marketing director Anna France.

Langports also has two successful English colleges in Brisbane & Gold Coast, Queensland. In the last 10 years, Langports has helped over 22,000 students to learn English and integrate into the Australian culture. Established in 2007, The Langports Foundation is funded by the various companies in the Langports Group as well as staff, students and associates. It is currently running projects supporting educational organisations in Cambodia, Vietnam and with indigenous organisations in Australia.
