Quality Language Schools Worldwide

Five IALC language schools hosted agent fam trips in Italy and Malta in May 2009 following the IALC Workshop in Milan.

A group of 13 agents set off early on Sunday morning for Sicily, where they spent two days in the personal care of Alessandro Adorno, director of the Babilonia Italian language school in Taormina. Stefan Engstrom of Blueberry in Sweden said: "I feel that it was a very useful trip for me and I can now help my staff in the counselling of Taormina. It will be a trip I remember a long time and thanks for your fantastic Sicilian hospitality!"

Agents from six countries flew from Milan to Malta to visit Linguatime in Sliema and BELS on the island of Gozo. BELS is a boutique, family-run English language school on Gozo offering general and business English. Linguatime School of English has a capacity of 180 students and is located on the seafront of Sliema, Malta's main seaside resort. It provides language courses for adults, teenagers, schools, businesses and groups in a modern, spacious environment. The fam trip included visits to the schools and Malta's capital Valletta, a UNESCO world heritage site, as well as Mdina, Malta's Silent City. The group enjoyed a harbour cruise and spent the day on Gozo, visiting the Azure Window and Inland Sea, Ggantija Megalithic Temples and Citadel. Rebecca Brincat of BELS said: "We allowed time to explore the locations and take in the islands' flavour in addtion to visiting the schools."

A third group travelled to Florence to visit the Linguaviva and Lorenzo de' Medici Italian language schools.

After each IALC workshop, member schools located in the same or neighbouring countries invite agents to visit them for one to three days on a fam (familiarisation) trip. This is a practical and cost-effective way to discover new destinations and language schools, see new facilities and learn more about the language programs offered. After the 2010 IALC Galway Workshop in Ireland there will be fam trips to Cork, Dublin and the North of England.
