The English Language Center has announced an expansion of their existing Entrepreneurship Course for 2020, introducing an Advanced Entrepreneurship Course for Summer Junior Program students enrolled in their Boston and Los Angeles programs.
The Advanced Entrepreneurship Course builds on principles learned in the Basic Entrepreneurship Course and focuses more deeply on themes of innovation and prototyping, offering students a unique experience to enhance their English language skills in a real-world context.
The Advanced Entrepreneurship Course is targeted toward English language learners with a high-intermediate or better level of English proficiency who have previously taken an entrepreneurship course with the English Language Center or who have previous experience with entrepreneurship or business studies. Students who participate in the English Language Center’s Entrepreneurship courses continue to practice their English in the context of business and leadership principles, while also gaining public speaking, presentation, and teamwork skills.
With the addition of the Advanced Entrepreneurship Course, Junior Program students can now enroll in Entrepreneurship for a total of 4 weeks during the summer - 2 weeks in Basic Entrepreneurship and 2 weeks in Advanced Entrepreneurship. At the end of each 2 week module, students will participate in a pitch contest, during which they will present their business ideas and receive feedback from panelists.

This course really provides an opportunity for our students to continue to think outside of the box, learn to take risks and inspire them to be both creative and innovative. More and more of our students have higher level English skills and by teaching English through Advanced Entrepreneurship we are meeting the demand to challenge students in addition to building students' confidence in their English language, critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills.”
The English Language Center’s Junior Programs , which operate during the summer on three prestigious college campuses in the USA located in Boston, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara, celebrates 25 years of offering Junior Programs in 2020.
