Giant Lebkuchen, an IALC Bierfest, VIP guests and a gala dinner with a medley of musical styles in a former monastery: the 2008 IALC Workshop hosted by BWS Germanlingua in Munich continued the IALC tradition of showcasing the host city culture and serving up a few surprises as well. And for the 290 delegates from language schools, agencies and exhibiting companies around the world, the well-organised meetings during the day laid the foundations for new and stronger business partnerships in language and study travel.

The 2008 IALC Workshop attracted the largest number of international delegates in the association's history. For BWS, which has German language schools in Munich and Berlin, the challenge in this historic year was to create an event that not only profiled Munich as a top destination for learning German, but also marked IALC's 25th Anniversary in fitting style. BWS did not disappoint. “It was truly a great event, well-organized in all respects, imaginative, fun and dynamic! It showed the best of IALC, both from a business and social perspective,” said David Diplock, outgoing IALC President.
