BEET: a top school in the top resort in England

Quality Language Schools Worldwide

There was double success for Beet Language Centre in 2013. On 30 October, the town of Bournemouth was named Best UK Coastal Resort at the British Travel Awards, after BEET achieved joint first position in the British Council rankings earlier in the year.

It was welcome news for Clive Barrow, Managing Director of BEET Language Centre, who said: “We now have the top school in the top resort in England!”

The British Travel Awards reflect public opinion, as they are not decided by an industry panel but depend solely on consumer votes.

BEET’s joint first listing in the British Council rankings results from an outstanding fourteen “strengths” identified in its last Accreditation UK inspection. A new inspection system was introduced in 2013. It established “Care of Juniors” as a separate section and reports are now published in full on the British Council website, a move towards transparency that benefits students, parents and agents.

For more information about BEET, read Melanie Butler’s report on the school’s history since its foundation in1979. The article explains how BEET developed into a centre of excellence and how it became one of the largest teacher training centres in the UK (And the BEET goes on..., EL Gazette, November 2013).
