French language school Alpha.b is celebrating 20 years of operation. The centre opened in 1993 in Nice and received 183 students that year . "Nowadays we have about 3000 students per year!," says school director Anja Denysiuk.

To mark its anniversary in 2013, Alpha.b has been contacting itsfirst students by post, since emails did not exist at the time. Some students have already answered, sending news and pictures of their time learning French in France.

To thank this first group of students, Alpha.b has organised a lottery. In October 2013, one lucky early student of Alpha.b will win one of several French courses being given away on the occasion of the school’s 20th anniversary.

It is a time of celebration for Alpha.b, which has decorated its main building and is running a photo competition with a GoPro camera as first prize. All students in 2013 will also receive a special beach bag.
