2 more federal states added to the “Bildungsurlaub” recognition at Good Hope Studies

Even more German Citizens can now learn English at Good Hope Studies in South Africa on their Intensive and English for Work courses.

The IALC-accredited school in Cape Town have added two new federal states to its portfolio of already 9 existing “Bildungsurlaub” recognitions.

The Bildungsurlaub” recognition at Good Hope Studies means that German Citizens can educate themselves further for the duration of a minimum of 5 normally paid days within or outside Germany.

Good Hope Studies Intensive and English for Work courses (30 lessons per week) are accepted for “Bildungsurlaub” in the following federal states: Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen (NEW), Hamburg, Hessen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Niedersachsen (NEW), Rheinland-Pfalz, Saarland, Sachsen-Anhalt as well as  Schleswig-Holstein.

Alexander Kratochwil, Director of GHS, states: “We welcome the decision by two more federal states in Germany to accept language courses in South Africa for their “Bildungsurlaub” programme. It would be great if governments in other countries would follow the example and support language study trips abroad."

Bavaria and Sachsen are the only 2 federal states that don’t offer Bildungsurlaub at all.
