Quality Language Schools Worldwide

The IALC 2012 Toronto Workshop video is now on our website! The Workshop hosted by Tamwood Language Centres in April blended business, learning, networking and fun in the unique IALC atmosphere.....

The IALC Workshop Concept

Our concept is simple: bring together world-leading IALC-accredited language schools and agencies in an intimate workshop where they can develop the personal relationships that are essential in international education. Visit a different study destination each year where an IALC member showcases its city, culture and school through a unique evening programme.

What agents say about IALC

Attending agents like the personal contact with the directors of the independent IALC schools. A Toronto survey respondent sums it up: "In most IALC schools, decision-makers are professionals from the field of education which is a very important factor to me."

They also appreciate the workshop’s friendliness, which comes from its size, the cooperative spirit between the schools and mutual respect of the schools and agents. "I noticed that the educators are not only very friendly but also outstanding professionals. I found what I needed to widen the range of options to offer my students," says another Toronto attendee.

Networking is also important and in our surveys, agents frequently mention the quality of the other agents, many of whom are also company owners. For Torsten Pankok of TravelPlus Group, IALC is "a familiar workshop with right size, changing locations, where you meet the responsible people of schools and agents."

Destination Canada

Tamwood Language Centres showed us all sides of Toronto: from opera at the elegant Royal Conservatory to maple syrup and beer production at the trendy Steam Whistle Brewery, ice hockey and multicultural urban dance. And as specialists in English activity holidays, they showed their organisational flair with the amazing Tamwood Idol Contest, in which mixed teams of delegates performed with a live band in a competition judged by industry journalist Amy Baker of The PIE, student insurance specialist Keith Segal of GuardMe, and Matt Collingwood, co-owner of Tamwood, whose impersonation of Simon Cowell was spot on!

With seminars on work experience and university pathways in Canada and post-workshop fam trips to IALC schools in Ottawa, Halifax, Vancouver, Northampton and Boston, the IALC North American experience was complete!

"It was my first time at IALC and I liked everything from the beginning: organization, quality of the educators, friendly environment, ethics and professional approach - among many other positive aspects."
