The Liden & Denz Language Centres in St Petersburg and Moscow have both been granted licenses to become the first telc examination centres for Russian in Russia. Language tests by the Frankfurt based not-for-profit organisation are used in over 2000 examination centres spread across 20 countries.

telc language tests are popular as they are closely aligned with the Common European

Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). They focus on communicative

competence and are offered in Russian for A1, A2, B1 and B2 levels. The CEFR alignment guarantees international comparability of language competence, which is very important for a successful career planning.

Both Liden & Denz language centres have passed the necessary telc on-site inspection and fifteen teachers from three centres have recently been trained and duly certified by telc to run all their available Russian language tests.

telc language tests have a written and oral part and can be taken at Liden and Denz from July 2014, once per month. The test costs between EUR 70 and EUR 110. Test

results will be quickly communicated; the official telc certificate will follow within weeks.

Liden & Denz’ managing director Julia Voevodina sees a big demand for the telc Russian language test: “It is a very good alternative to the purely academic TRKI exam. TRKI is fine if you want to study at a Russian university. telc is more for practical and job-related purposes.”

Students will be able to book their telc exam in advance or on-site until 4 weeks prior to

the exam date.
