IALC recently welcomed the Langports English language schools in Australia as its newest members.
The Langports English language schools are situated in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, both popular destinations for tourists and language learners due to the sub-tropical climate and laidback lifestyle. The Gold Coast has 70 kilometres of sandy, surf beaches offering water sports like surfing, paragliding and kite-surfing. Brisbane is a young, vibrant and modern city with friendly people and a low cost of living, which offers many outdoor arts and summer festivals in a climate that averages 300 days of sunshine per year.
John France, Langports Chief Executive Officer explains the origin of the school's name: 'lang' is short for language and 'port' refers to a destination or meeting place. When put together, they signify a 'language destination' - a hub where travellers from all over the world can meet and communicate with each other through the common language of English.
Langports prides itself on the detail and care with which its language programmes are tailored to suit each student's ability. The unique UFO Study Program helps Langports English language students to progress rapidly, by allowing them to learn at different levels according to their macro skills.
Asked why Langports had joined IALC, John France said: “IALC to me is the most valuable language/travel association I can join. It is quality focused and as a member, gives further credibility to the great things we are achieving at Langports.”
