Fam Trip 1 - Sydney - Adelaide - Melbourne

22 - 25 March 2020

Bare essentials:

Sunday 22 March: arrive in Sydney followed by Welcome Reception.

Monday 23 March: tour of IALC schools Sydney English Academy and Langports Language College Sydney accompanied by tours and excursions Sydney. Flight to Adelaide and check-into accommodation.

Tuesday 24 March: visit to IALC school SACE Adelaide, city tour of Adelaide, flight to Melbourne check-into accommodation.

Wednesday 25 March: visit IALC schools Impact English College Melbourne and SACE Melbourne and walking tour of Melbourne City.

Cost:

Fam Trip 2 - Cairns - Brisbane - Sydney 

21 - 25 March 2020

Bare essentials:

Saturday 21 March: Arrival in Cairns followed by a Welcome Reception.

Sunday 22 March: Day trip to the Great Barrier Reef and Welcome Dinner & Aboriginal Experience.

Monday 23 March: Visit to IALC school Cairns College of English & Business, walking tour of the Esplanade and Cairns Marina, visit students at the workplace and flight to Brisbane.

Tuesday 24 March: Visit to IALC schools Impact English College Brisbane and Langports Language College Brisbane, sightseeing tour of the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and flight to Sydney.

Wednesday 25 March: Take ferry to Manly, visit to IALC schools Sydney English Academy and Langports Language College Sydney and walking tour of Darling Harbour.

Monday 23 March: Visit to IALC schools Impact English College Brisbane and Langports Language College Brisbane with a tour to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, followed by a drive to the Gold Coast.

Tuesday 24 March: Visit to IALC school Langports Language College Gold Coast and Inforum Education Australia, BBQ Lunch at Burleigh Heads and a drive to Byron Bay.

Wednesday 25 March: Visit to IALC school Byron Bay English Language School.

Bare essentials:

Monday 30 March: Fly from Auckland to Nelson, New Zealand (flights included) and dinner at 19:30 with Nelson English Centre staff.

Tuesday 31 March: Cultural visit to Nelson/Abel Tasman National Park and Bark Bay Falls Swing Bridge.

Wednesday 1 April: Day out sightseeing in Nelson and dinner 7:30pm with Nelson English Centre staff.

FAQs

Visas

Do i need a visa?

Yes, please apply for one here https://www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas/apply-for-a-visa/about-visa/nzeta.

General

When will I find out if my registrations has been successful?

We aim to give you an answer within 2 weeks. If you have applied for a fam trip this may take longer.

How can I register a second participant from my agency?

On the agent registration page you can select to register Agent Additional Delegate. You can find the costs here.

Can I bring children?

You will not be able to bring children in to the workshop or events. However, if you have a companion who will be responsible for them while you are at the workshop then they can share your hotel room. Please contact the IALC staff at workshop@ialc.org if you need a family room or any special requirements.

Can I take photographs or record videos during the event?

Yes, but please ask the permission of others around you.

Can I advertise at the IALC 2020 Auckland Workshop?

Can I print my schedule at the Workshop?

Yes, there will be a cyber café set up. Please print your schedules on the day or day before so you have the most updated version. 

What is the minimum number of meetings I will need to attend at the 2020 Auckland Workshop?

Agents will be required to attend a minimum of 20 meetings.

Payments

How do I pay?  

You can pay via our payment portal here or by direct bank transfer. Our bank details will be on your invoice. 

Can I pay by credit card?

Please see the list of countries/currencies we can accept through our Flywire portal here (INSERT PDF LINK).  If you have a euro account and wish to pay by credit card you will need to do a direct bank transfer. Please see our bank details on your invoice.  

Do we pay the hotel directly for our room or IALC? 

Agents – we are hosting you for 3 nights’ accommodation. Your registration fee includes the 3 nights’ accommodation. If you request extra nights please email us at workshop@ialc.org. You will be required to pay for extra nights to IALC after Rosie issues you an extra invoice.

Members and exhibitors – you can book accomodation when completing your registration. This will be added to your invoice. 

Fam Trips

How can I apply for a fam trip?

You will be able to apply for a place on a pre-Workshop and post-Workshop fam trip only after your registration for the workshop has been confirmed. Please note that acceptance to the fam trip is not guaranteed even if your participation to the workshop has been confirmed. 

Will I be taken to the airport when the fam trip ends?

When the fam trip comes to an end you will have to make your own way to the nearest airport. Please prepare in advance. 

Where does the fam trip end?

The fam trip will end in the last destination you will be visiting. You will then need to make your own way home. 

Evening Events

What is the dress code for the Gala Dinner?

Formal attire.

Can I walk to the evening venues from the hotel?

We have arranged transportation to the evening events. 

Can my companion attend evening events?

Only if you registered your companion for evening
