IALC Overview

The International Association of Language Centres was founded in 1983 to accredit and represent private, independent language schools teaching the official language(s) of their country.

The IALC Quality Scheme and Code of Ethics ensure that all IALC schools provide high quality language services.

IALC language schools are represented worldwide by professional study abroad agents.

Based in Canterbury, UK, the IALC Secretariat:

  • administers the quality assurance scheme
  • identifies potential new member schools
  • co- organises the annual meeting and workshop
  • carries out the dynamic yearly plan
  • answer agent enquiries about IALC

The quality of IALC schools is assured by:
