ELC Sydneys October nationality mix featured 28 countries and drew students from four continents to learn English in the Australian harbour city. Approximately 30% of these were from Europe, 30% from South America and the remainder from the rest of the world.
Whereas around 80% of English language students in Australia come from Asian countries, 60 - 70% of ELC students come from Europe, South America and other parts of the world. Managing director David Scott says that ELC is well-known for its mix of nationalities, with no single nationality usually exceeding 10-15% of the total. This means all classes have a great mix year-round and this really contributes to the learning experience of the students, he comments.
